Attica (Showtime) recounts the five-day 1971 prison rebellion at the Attica Correctional Facility in upstate New York, which took the lives of 29 inmates and 10 hostages. (November 6)
A Man Named Scott (Amazon Prime) In 2009, Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi released his debut LP, Man on the Moon: The End of Day. A genre-bending album that broke barriers by featuring songs dealing with depression, anxiety and loneliness, it resonated deeply with young listeners and launched Cudi as a musical star and cultural hero. Director Robert Alexander’s A Man Named Scott explores Cudi’s journey over a decade of creative choices, struggles and breakthroughs, making music that continues to move and empower his millions of fans around the world. Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It (Netflix) is a 2021 American documentary film, which follows Rita Moreno, focusing on her early life and career. Norman Lear, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Michael Kantor serve as executive producers. This reminds me so much of the Natalie Wood documentary. I was touched by how open she was about sexual abuse, her abusive relationship with marlon Brando, and how she felt about her own marriage. (Streaming now).
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (Bravo) is about to get heated later this week with the Jen Shah arrest. Make sure you watch this week’s episode too where Lisa Barlow obviously sets up a scene to take down Mary. (Sundays)
