Happy Monday!
Hope you had a great weekend. I have a Patreon page with bonus podcast episodes. Do check it out if you have not done so. I posted a Patreon episode with my medium friend Jonathan on Wednesday of last week about the Murdagh murders and Gabby Petito. Everything he said about Gabby is turning out to be true. I made it public so you can listen, but you can also check out all the other episodes too.
Dancing with the Stars (ABC) premieres tonight. I am going to interview Gleb, one of the dancing pros. This season has plenty to talk about, namely the re-introduction of Olivia Jade to pop culture. She is the daughter of Lori Loughlin. Do you think her mom will come to the studio? I went to a taping years ago and was surprised how tiny the studio is. The worst part is that you have to hand over your cell phone. I sat next to Dani Minogue, sister of Kylie, and in front of Kristi Yamiguchi’s family.
Previously announced additions to the cast include Olympian Suni Lee, the Team USA gymnast fresh off winning gold in Tokyo, and YouTuber JoJo Siwa, who will make history as the first celeb to be paired with a pro of the same sex. The cast also includes "Bling Empire" star Christine Chiu, Emmy-nominated actress Melora Hardin, YouTuber Olivia Jade, "The Karate Kid" actor Martin Kove, professional wrestler Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, Peloton cycling director Cody Rigsby, actor Brian Austin Green and NBA star Iman Shumpert. The Masked Singer (Fox) returns for its sixth season, and this time with a studio audience. I chatted with Jenny while she was filming this season, and I am certain this will be one of the most talked about seasons. (September 22)
Curse of the Chippendales (Discovery Plus) is a four part series about the male dance group of the ‘80s and ‘90s and “one of the most outrageous crimes in American history. It checks in with former dancers, the women who adored them, the creative leads behind Chippendales, and the law enforcement officers who worked the case. (September 24)
The Great British Baking Show (Netflix) returns for its 12th season. (September 24)
Nuclear Family (HBO Max) is a three-part documentary series, which follows filmmaker Ry Russo-Young as she turns the camera on her own past to explore the meaning of family. In the late 70s/early 80s, when the concept of a gay family was inconceivable to most, Ry and her sister Cade were born to two lesbian mothers through sperm donors. Ry’s idyllic childhood was threatened by an unexpected lawsuit which sent shockwaves through her family’s lives and continues to reverberate today. (September 26)
