Happy Monday!
The networks slow down their new programming during the holiday, but here is my list. I have added in some oldies, but goodies if you are looking for something to watch this week. Fret not, I have ALL NEW episodes throughout the holiday.
You have to check out the Sister Wives reunion (TLC). Kody finally has to answer for all the crazy things he has said and done this season. (December 18)
Real Housewives of Miami (Peacock) is a must watch. Last week tensions rose between Julia and Martina during a family dinner with their daughter Emma. Nicole took the girls out on her private boat for a day, and as they set forth on a trip to Key West where they wondered what was wrong with Lisa. They would soon learn Lisa’s husband Lenny was leaving her for a younger woman. This week’s episode will begin with them supporting her. Also, while celebrating her birthday, Alexia insults Julia. Lisa panics that Lenny is bringing his girlfriend into her home with her children there. (December 22)
Branson (HBO) has the season finale, and will focus on Richard Branson’s work in space. I have absolutely loved this series, and find his story so inspiring. Also, important to note he has ADHD if you have someone in your life who does too. In fact he has ADHD and dyslexia. (December 22)
100 Foot Wave (HBO)
Garrett McNamara journeyed to Nazare, Portugal with one goal in mind: to conquer a 100-foot wave. His effort drove the sport of surfing to new heights and helped transform a tiny fishing village into the world's preeminent big-wave surfing destination. From HBO Sports comes this breathtaking six-part documentary series that chronicles McNamara's quest. There are 6 episodes.
Home Game (Netflix)
This docuseries profiles unique and dangerous traditional sports from around the world, as well as the communities and cultures where they thrive.
Untold (Netflix)
This docuseries takes fans, historians, and casual viewers into the fascinating world of sports. With never before seen behind-the-scenes footage, scalding hot takes, and great interviews with sports legends, Untold shares tales of famous events in the sports world from the athletes who never got to tell their side of the story. I recommend the episode with Mardy Fish, whom I interviewed. Season two features two episodes about Manti Te'o. The story follows the life and career of All-American Notre Dame football player Manti Te'o and explores how a clandestine online relationship threatened both his career and legacy.
Murder on Middle Beach (HBO)
This is a four-part documentary series directed by first-time filmmaker Madison Hamburg, examining Hamburg’s complicated journey to solve an unspeakable crime and absolve the people he loves while seeking out answers within his own fractured family and community. The series revolves around the case of Barbara Hamburg, Madison’s mother, who was brutally murdered on March 3, 2010 near her home in the upper-middle class enclave of Madison, Connecticut. Investigators speculated this was a crime of passion, but without sufficient evidence, the case grew cold. Over the course of eight years, Hamburg interviewed his family members and many others to learn more about his mother’s life and gather evidence in hopes of solving her murder. Along the way, he uncovers a web of familial and local secrets, connections to shadowy figures, and years-old resentments in his deceptively serene hometown.
Enjoy!
