Hello again,
I am thrilled the Eagles won today. Did I ever tell you that the year they won the Super Bowl I was scheduled to interview a Real Housewife the next day? She sent me a text approximately two minutes after the win to cancel. Still not over it.
I have a great list for you this week.
Reality Television:
The Bachelor (ABC) has a brand new season. Grant Ellis may not have found love with Jenn Tran in Season 21 of "The Bachelorette," but he's getting another chance as the titular "Bachelor" in Season 29 of "The Bachelor," premiering next week on ABC. (January 27)
You can now watch The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on ABC on January 27. The Hulu series following a group of Mormon mom influencers implodes when they get caught in the midst of a swinging sex scandal.
Tom Green Country (Amazon Prime) features comedian Tom Green pulling up stakes and relocating from the bright lights of Hollywood to his newly purchased country farm. (January 31)
Love Island All-Stars (Peacock) features a group of famous Love Island All Stars returning to paradise for the first time, hoping to get another shot at finding love. The show is hosted by Maya Jama. (January 27)
Documentaries:
American Manhunt: OJ Simpson (Netflix) revisits the infamous 1990s murder case and trial that captivated America. With new interviews and insights, it explores the chase, courtroom drama, and cultural impact, offering a fresh look at this pivotal moment in US history. You can listen to my interview with the director, and listen to the episode on January 29.
The Curious Case of… (ID Discovery/Max) takes a deep dive into strange tales, bizarre cons, and twisted truths. I will be covering two cases in my episode on Friday with legal commentator Beth Karas who hosts the series. (Streaming)
Six Nations: Full Contact (Netflix) is produced by F1: Drive to Survive producer Box to Box Films. It is centered around the events of the Guinness Men’s Six Nations, the annual Rugby competition between England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. (January 29)
Scamanda (Hulu) is finally airing this week. It is the story of California native Amanda Riley, a young wife, mother and devout Christian” who faked having cancer to scam people out of money. (January 30)
You can listen to my interview with podcast host Charlie Webster and investigative reporter Nancy Mosciatello where we discussed the series in episode 1105.
Enjoy!
Love, Kate
A little late to comment, but thank you for posting the reminder about Scamanda!!
I got rid of Facebook and now follow you here, and when my friends couldn’t immediately tell me if the Hulu one was ‘the one’, I came straight here because I knew you’d have the info ♥️
Thanks for all you do, Kate - I’m a long time follower and am so happy you’re on Substack as well!
I just started watching ‘The Curious Case of…’ I like it!
