Hello from Maui!
Today we spent the morning at my friend and former podcast guest Dina Ruiz’s house, and it felt like I was filming a scene from Love Island. Later my husband took one of the kids on kayak and they went past a nude beach. #wasnotonmybingocard

Tomorrow’s new podcast episode covers two true crime documentaries that aired a few years ago but I just came across, Who Killed The Lyon Sisters (Apple TV+) and The Lie: The Murder of Grace Millane (Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime).
Here’s your list this week:
Documentaries:
Race For The Crown (Netflix) is my absolute favorite thing to watch this week. It is an inside look at the high-stakes quest to win across the prestigious Triple Crown circuit. Even if you know zilch about the horse racing industry, you will get sucked in easily. There are huge personalities and high stakes. Put this at the top of your list. (April 22)
The Murder of Joanna Yeates (Amazon Prime) explores the 2010 case of Joanna Yeates, who was found murdered in Bristol after going missing, and the ensuing media frenzy that wrongly implicated her landlord, Christopher Jefferies. The case is a stark example of how media coverage can go wrong, leading to an innocent man being accused and vilified. A Dutch national, also living in the building, was later convicted of the murder. (April 22)
The Children of October 7 (Paramount+) is powerful. On October 7, 2023, Israeli children were among the most vulnerable victims impacted by the Hamas attacks. The numbers are staggering: Of the estimated 1,200 Israelis murdered, 37 were children. Of those who survived, over 100 children lost one parent, over 20 lost both parents and more than 35 were kidnapped to Gaza. Hundreds of children were injured, and thousands were displaced from their homes. (April 23)
Reality Shows:
Battle Camp (Netflix) features stars from various Netflix reality series, including Love Is Blind, The Ultimatum, Perfect Match, and Selling the OC. Our girl Polly is one of the contestants. It’s like Netflix’s version of The Challenge. (April 23)
Vanderpump Villa (Hulu) follows hand-selected staff as they work, live and play at an exclusive European villa estate. Lisa Vanderpump is involved, but Stassi was brought on presumably to make the show more entertaining. (April 24)
Love Hotel (Bravo) has four Real Housewives dating men they will probably never end up with. (April 27)
Also, Sister Wives (TLC) is back with new episodes.
Enjoy!
The Murder of Joanna Yeates (Amazon Prime) is showing available on Amazon UK. Is there a way to watch in the US?
