Happy August!
How is your summer? My kids are in about 17 different camps, so I feel like I am treading water.
I am still fully invested in Love Island. Call me crazy, but I still harbor hope that Shannon (from Bucks County, PA) might actually have a shot with Josh outside of the show. Am I losing it? I think Cashay, the real star of Love Island, really blew her chance at Charlie because she was so preoccupied with Cinco. Cashay should get a job on E! as a host once this show concludes. I still think Azah and Xavier have the best shot at winning Big Brother. I didn’t love this week’s episode of Real Housewives of Potomac.
White Lotus (HBO) continues to be a bright star in the week. The scene between Nicole and Rachel should win an Emmy. There is so much to unpack in their conversation about their careers.
This week is already exciting for my podcast. Wednesday’s episode will feature Jenny McCarthy discussing Erika Jayne Girardi. I also have an insider report from Woodstock 99, which is the focus of a new documentary on HBO. I have been texting with a New Kid on the Block too.
This is what I am watching this week.
Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami (Netflix) focuses on the South Florida traffickers indicted in one of the largest drug cases in U.S. history. Alexia from Real Housewives of Miami makes an appearance. (August 4)
Cooking with Paris (Netflix) Paris Hilton showcase her culinary expertise (or lack thereof), glam kitchen wardrobe, and party-throwing skills with some of her fab celeb friends including Kim Kardashian. (August 4)
Money Hungry (Food Network) Host Kal Penn tests the taste buds of everyday Americans, recipe developers and chefs in a series of increasingly difficult global taste tests. I am not a foodie, but I love Kal Penn. (August 8)
UFO (Showtime) explores what clandestine influence the American government, lucrative private companies and the military may have in shielding the truth behind extraterrestrial phenomena to further their own agendas. I don’t believe in UFOs, but I want to check this out. (August 8)
Super Heists (CNBC) cracks open the case files of different master thieves, examining their crimes from two distinct, yet parallel points of view: the masterminds themselves and the investigators who doggedly pursue them. (August 9)
The Mole Agent (Hulu) is about an 83-year-old man poses as a resident in a Chilean nursing home to see if he can find signs of abuse. This was the recommendation of a listener and I am so happy for it.
Don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast, join the Facebook group, and follow me on Instagram.
Happy watching!
