This week’s list is packed with must-see picks across sports, true crime, and reality TV. Whether you're in the mood for gripping documentaries or your favorite unscripted drama, I've got you covered.
On the podcast, I have a stellar lineup of guests: a top reality television producer with behind-the-scenes insight, the author of a New York Times bestseller about Anna Wintour, and an attorney representing a family searching for answers in their son's mysterious disappearance.
Plus, don’t miss this week’s bonus episode — a deep dive into celebrity dating NDAs and the most jaw-dropping marriage prenups in Hollywood.
Documentaries and Series:
Quarterback (Netflix) returns with Season 2 covering the 2024–25 NFL season. This immersive docuseries follows three high-profile quarterbacks—Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Jared Goff (Detroit Lions), and Kirk Cousins (Atlanta Falcons)—both on and off the field. (July 8)
Building the Band (Netflix) is a fresh music‑competition reality series where 50 talented singers audition blindly — they can’t see each other and must rely solely on vocal chemistry. From these blind sessions, six bands are formed, and later they face off in dynamic showcases. Think The Voice meets Love is Blind, but for bands — appearance takes a backseat to talent.
The show is hosted by Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean, with star mentor and judge Nicole Scherzinger. Guest judges include Kelly Rowland and the late Liam Payne, in what became his final project before his tragic passing in October 2024. His family gave their blessing to include him in the series, adding an emotional tribute element. (July 9)
Trainwreck: The Real Project X (Netflix) is about a teenage girl in the small Dutch town of Haren who created a Facebook event for her sixteenth birthday party in 2012, but mistakenly makes it public instead of private. Inspired by a love of the Hollywood movie Project X, Dutch teenagers make the event go viral, and soon tens of thousands of people sign up to come to the party. Despite warnings, police and local authorities don’t think anyone will turn up. No provisions are made to entertain the masses of young people who arrive in Haren, and the party soon explodes into a full-blown riot. (July 8)
One Night in Idaho: The College Murders (Amazon Prime Video) is a four-part true-crime series investigating the 2022 University of Idaho killings, featuring interviews with victims' families. This is an absolute must watch. (June 11)
Reality Shows:
Bachelor in Paradise (ABC) moves to Costa Rica, featuring “Golden” contestants, and hosted by Jesse Palmer with Wells Adams and Hannah Brown. (July 7)
Big Brother (CBS) begins again. Airing three nights weekly (Sun/Wed/Thu), with bonus "Unlocked" segments Fridays starting July 25. The theme this season is focused on secrets/mystery. (July 10)
Survival Mode (Peacock) is a gripping 9-episode series chronicling true survival stories. (July 7)
Real Housewives of Orange County (Bravo) new season premieres this week. Returning are Tamra Judge, Heather Dubrow, Shannon Storms Beador, Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, Jennifer Pedranti, and Katie Ginella—with Gretchen Rossi returning as a “friend of the housewives” after 12 years. (July 10)
